Thursday February 22, 2007

Dear Jim, Patti, Katie and Kim: Just checking up on your progress, Jim. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Sometimes we can't see What God intends, but having gone through lung cancer with my father, I know it made me a stronger, better, more sympathetic human being. Not only does it give the person "the faith that moves mountains" (as the old hymn goes), but the comfort and blessings extend to those around you. We think of Patti and the girls as they live this with you, and pray special prayers for them also. Shannon, Adele and Nick Graham

Wednesday February 21, 2007

Hi Jim, I too join you in your pray for healing. I've thought a lot about you and you continue to be in my prayers. You are such an encouragement. Our scripture memory verse for our FCCI group this week is Philippians 4: 11-13 "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Our peace and joy has nothing at all to do with our status in life or our circumstances. The world says "if it feels good, do it." Our experience in Christ is that he is our joy. He paid the price. We worship, adore, and admire him. Nothing at all matters except Christ. We experience a peace that the world doesn't know and joy unspeakabeable. Though we walk through valleys, we are not afraid. May God continually bless you Jim with heavenly blessings as well as human joys. May you live to enjoy your grandchildren. --Paul & Shirley Farmer

Sunday February 18, 2007

Hello, Jim, Patty and girls Praying for a blessing of healing to come your way and may the grace and mercy of God touch you all in a special way. The word at our church has been to step out- In Faith I believe of the healing in the wings of our Lord- with the stripes on his back he took it for our healings. I lift you to the Lord each Sunday for a healing for a great testimony to be given back to our Lord Jesus Christ. I hope and pray that all is very well with your soul my brother and sister in the Lord. Blessings, Norene

Dearest Family in Christ, Such a Blessing to read your notes to us to let us know how you all are doing. I too have read this verse and felt the Lord telling me to remember All his promises ! Not to look at the things of the earth or our body's but in all things give him praise and glory. Read the book battlefield of the mind by Joyce Myers a great book, I am reading again this book with a sister in the Lord and I hope to add another sister. This book helped me to see where satan was using me like a puppet in my emotions and my out look in life, just new there was a battle with strong holds of the past my mind was in a prison-I say all this with great love- I want to have my mind, heart, tongue speak like my brother Jim in all Faith, love and hope but the greatest is Love ! Yes,my family Let us make a lot of praise and worship to our Lord in the Heavenlys this will hold back the lies of satan. Remember its not by might or power but by my Spirit says the Lord. Love in Jesus, Sister Norene

Dear Jim: How fast time passes. It seems only yesterday we were all in CA and you and Patti were so young. Our thoughts and our prayers go out to you and your family. May God hold you all in the palm of his hand and give you the strength that moves moutains (as the old hymn says). Adele had lymphatic sarcoma six years ago and beast cancer four years ago. I've had intestinal cancer twice, so we walk beside you and Patti at this time. God never sends trouble we are not capable of handling and with faith in HIM we do survive. Working in the medical field as we all do, we know how much easier it is for those who can place themselves in God's hands and say Thy Will Be Done. We wish you a speedy return to health. Shannon

Sunday December 10, 2006

hi jim it's been a while since we've last spoke, hope all is well. As Russ had told you My dad also has lung cancer, doctors say it is in stage 3and he had 6mounths to a year without treatment. Well he went for kemo once and refused to go again as he was very sick from it. So you know, my dad sets his mind to something there's no changing it. He was or still is in denial that he is sick. My sister's close friend works for a company I believe is a health aid type of company, well he sent my dad these bottles of drops to take. He said there are testimonials of people in stage 4 who have taken it and they are in remission today. I myself was skeptical along with his doctor< till yesterday My dad went in for another checkup and x-ray The doctors missed placed the x-rays and said they would call my sister when found a he looks them over. he listened to my dads lungs and said they sounded great and was surprised how well he is doing. they thought he would be in bad shape now 7 months later with no treatment. Well doctor called 10PM to my sister saying he can't believe the cancer hasn't only not grew but actually appears to be shrinking. ( they expected it to double in size every 2-3mounths) we are all amazed. So i am e-mailing all the info i received from my sister to you so you can consider if you want to give it a try. We are all surprised on how well my dad is doing. Now that he has heard the good news he appears even better with a all new positive outlook. Well hope to here from you soon and if the e-mail doesn't come through right let me know. So you know my dad was told to take 15 drops 4 times a day Where on the bottle i believe it says 3-4 drops ? times aday.the drops are c.$200.00 for 3 bottles. Take care Art adler

Dear Jim, My name is Pam Kidwell. I am cousins with Paul Farmer and family. Paul's father was my mother's youngest sibling. I have been keeping track of our dear Rita... and that is how I found out about you... Paul is so right. God's ways are so much higher than ours... He is there for you. Sincerely, Pam Kidwell

Friday December 01, 2006

We just received the news that Rita has been diagnosed as totally cancer free. She came down with acute leukemia in June 27th, 2005. On Dec 6th, 2005 she received a bone marrow transplant from a fellow in Germany. They took the bone marrow from him in Germany and flew it over and gave it to Rita. It was very scary because they had her ready to receive and if it didn't make it in time, she would have died. She is now in Seattle getting all of her childhood shots. Her bloodtype even changed. A new creation! Here is the website I did for her: http://www.ritarooter.com Jim, you are in our prayers. God is faithful.

Tuesday July 18, 2006

Jim, just a quick note to let you know that we are thinking about you and holding you up in prayer. I went to my 40th high school reunion last weekend. Since I went to an all boys school, there were mostly old men at the reunion. Life is but a vapor. Like sand sifting through our fingers, we can hold it for just a little bit. You have a special blessing right now. You are forced to priortize. Romans 8:28 reminds us that all things work together for the good for those who love the Lord. God doesn't waste anything, even sickness. - Bless you, Paul and Shirley Farmer.

Hey Jim, Here's something to keep you busy at home. A song which was performed at our church by Sue Sommer (fabulous woman who ministers through music and testimony) It was prefaced by her asking, "What's the first thing you do when you get up, drink coffee, read the paper, take a shower? How many of you say Good Morning to Jesus? Then she sang this song. Now since you have never heard it, I have included the notes under the words so you can pick them out on a key board or piano. Tuesday June 27, 2006

Jim & Patti & Family: In my prayer time on Sat. Morning 6/24/06 I was given a Psalm to read and pray for you all to stand upon. The Psalm is 112. The verses in particular are verses 4-8 as follows: When darkness overtakes the godly, light will come bursting in. They are generous, compassionate. and righteous. All goes well for those who are generous, who lend freely and conduct their business fairly. Such people will NOT be overcome by evil circumstances. Those who are righteous will long be remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly!! The whole psalm is great. I pray these verses will encourage and uplift you and have confidence in God's loving care and promise of ability to cause you to be a triumphant testimony of His awesome love and healing power. With much Love, Prayers & Support Always, Kelly & Peter Thurber & Family
